Restorative Yoga with Stacey Williams, Sunday, February 4, 11:30am-1:00pm, $15 members/$18 non-members

Restorative practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions and grips in the body and mind. We use props to support the postures while gently stretching and strengthening the entire body. All levels of students are welcome! 

 

January TRX Total Body Series with Geoff TrippTuesdays 12:15-1:15pm, January 2, 9, 16, 23; Thursdays 7:30-8:30am, January 4, 11, 18, 25; or Fridays 12:15-1:15pm, January 5, 12, 19, 26; per series cost $30 members/$40 non-members +tax

Want a 55-minute total body functional workout? TRX total body will challenge every muscle in your body and improve muscle coordination and strength while burning calories and getting you into great shape. This class will also include a short 5-10 minute segment of interval cardio programming built around the TRX exercises. Limited to 7 participants per day.    

   

Winter Strength Training with Laura McCabe, Mondays 8:30-9:45am, January 8 - March 26 (10 sessions, no class on Monday holidays), $110+tax    

A winter strength training program is the best insurance policy to reduce injury and ensure that you get the most out of your ski season. Winter strength incorporates ski-specific strength training along with general strength to keep you strong and flexible throughout the winter months. Maintaining strength training throughout the winter will also help ease the transition into spring activities. Anyone of moderate to advanced fitness can participate.

 

Skier's Yoga with Bree Dillon, Sundays 4:00-5:15pm, January 21 - February 25 (6 sessions), $72 members/$90 non-members (+tax), or drop in if space permits for $12 members/$15 non-members

Just like your skis need wax, your body needs this class. We will use yoga as a tool to support ski-specific strength and stability, recovery of overwhelmed muscles from your week of ski adventures, and target the flexibility you need for healthy range of motion as you move over terrain. This class will favor slow, targeted work to emphasize your physical maintenance. No prior yoga experience necessary.

 

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with Sharon Cohen, Tuesdays 6:00-8:00pm, January 23 - March 13 (8 sessions), $175 with sliding scale available, free introductory presentations January 9 and 16, 6:00-7:00pm

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)  is the classic complete introduction to secular mindfulness.  Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn pioneered MBSR in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. It was so effective at easing chronic pain that within a year it was made part of the Department of Medicine. Today it is offered in hundreds of hospitals, and clinics worldwide.  MBSR is supported  by research in medicine, neuroscience, and psychology, and is often supported  by the National Institute of Health. The stress reduction program is appropriate for a  wide range of symptoms and psychological distress.
