Winthrop Physical Therapy General Info
About Us
Winthrop Physical Therapy was established in a one-room building in 1998, when Pete and Janice Dickinson moved to the Methow Valley from Park City, Utah, where Pete served as the US Ski Team Physical Therapist.
The Methow Valley had long been a destination area for active people. But something else was happening. Vacationers start building homes here, and many chose to make their lives here. Part-time residents starting spending more time in their “part time” residences, and the number of visitors increased exponentially.
It wasn’t long before word got out that world class care had arrived in our small community, and the one-room clinic was bustling.
Pete’s success and experience with orthopedic and sport therapy soon attracted the attention of the local men and women who depend on their bodies to make a living, and the fire fighters, carpenters, and laborers started showing up on his doorstep. (since there was no waiting room in those days) Then came their parents and grandparents, kids and teachers, neighbors and friends.
When it became apparent that the needs of the community were bigger than the building, the building got bigger. A lot bigger.
In 2002, Winthrop Physical Therapy built its current facility by the bridge near downtown Winthrop. Today, Winthrop Physical Therapy now has a team of three Physical Therapists, each with their unique areas of expertise, and all offering the same world class care you have come to expect from Winthrop Physical Therapy.
At the same time, the Dickinsons also fulfilled another dream they had for their community: To build a fitness facility to meet the needs of young and old as befitting our Valley lifestyle. Winthrop Fitness offers a state of the art facility with a wide array of strength and cardio equipment unprecedented in a small town. Our team includes certified Personal Trainers, former Olympians and world-ranked Masters competitors offering athletic coaching and training programs, senior programs and Yoga, Pilates and Spin classes to encourage fit and healthy lifestyles. Visitors are always welcome.
